The White Sox franchise-record losing streak continues, as the Twins pushed it to 20 losses in a row with a 13-7 win. They’ve been outscored 131-48 during this historic skid.

Other notes:

          • It’s been 28 days since the White Sox last won a game
          • They are 0-16 since the All-Star Break
          • This was the 18th time the Sox have been swept this season – and 6th time in a row

Chris Flexen had arguably his worst outing of the season, going just 1.2 innings and giving up 8 runs (6 earned). Let’s dive into the details.

Minnesota started the scoring early again, this time on a single, 2 walks and this Brooks Baldwin error, giving the Twins a 1-0 lead with 2 outs and men on 1st and 3rd. Jose Miranda stepped in and slapped a single to center to give Minnesota a 2-0 lead after one.

That Sox went down in order in the top of the 2nd, but the Twins weren’t done with Flexen just yet. Austin Martin drew a leadoff walk and scored one batter later on a Willi Castro double. 3-0 Twins.

After another single… and another double, Royce Lewis steppted to the plate and cleared the bases:

After a Max Kepler strikeout, Jose Miranda singled and that was it for Flexen. Final line: 1.2 IP, 7 H, 8 R, 6 ER, 3 BB, 3 K, HR.

Sammy Peralta came on in relief and promptly gave up a triple to Matt Wallner, making it 8-0 Twinkies.

The White Sox added a couple in the top of the 3rd. Brooks Baldwin – who had a nice 3-for-4 day at the plate – singled to right and was driven home on a double by Andrew Vaughn. Lenyn Sosa then laced a single to right. 8-2 Twins after three. They’d continue to chip away at the lead, eventually making it 8-5 in the 6th on this Benintendi homerun.

After the dust settled from the Battle of the Bad Bullpens, the Sox were on the losing end of a 20-run, 26 hit, 2 error contest.

How low can they go? Can the White Sox reach an MLB record 23-game losing streak? Tune in to find out!
