The White Sox ineptitude continues, as they have extended their franchise-worst losing streak and tied the AL record set by the 1988 Baltimore Orioles with 21 losses in a row. They’ve been outscored 136-49 during this historic skid and are 2 losses away from tying the MLB record.

Other notes:

          • It’s been 29 days since the White Sox last won a game
          • They are 0-17 since the All-Star Break

Ky Bush made his first start for the White Sox – and it could’ve gone a lot worse. Bush walked the bases loaded in the first, but gave up just a sacrifice fly.

In the bottom of the 4th with the game tied at 1, the A’s did some damage. A 1-out double by Tyler Nevin got the party started. A walk and a HBP later, and it’s bases loaded for Max Schuemann:

Bush would go on to retire the side and that would be the end of his night. His final line: 4.0 IP, 2 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 5 BB, 3 K.

In the bottom of the 6th, Lawrence Butler would hit a bomb to center field off of Chad Kuhl to make it 4-1 Oakland.

To cap off the night, Zack Gelof scored on a dropped third strike in the bottom of the 8th to get to the final score of 5-1.

The Sox try to extend their losing streak to 22 tonight against Oakland again at 8:40pm CT.

How low can they go? Can the White Sox reach an MLB record 23-game losing streak? Tune in to find out!
