The White Sox try to take the rubber match at Minute Maid Park this afternoon against the Houston Astros after a weak offensive and defensive contest Saturday night.
Ky Bush will take the mound for just the 3rd time for the White Sox. Bush walked a tightrope last time out against the New York Yankees, giving up 7 walks and 6 hits, but allowing just 2 runs in 4.2 innings. In his first start – against the Oakland A’s – Bush gave up an additional 5 free passes. He’s going to have to get his control under… well, control… or he’s going to have another long afternoon.
Framber Valdez will be on the bump for the Astros. Over his last 10 games, Valdez has given up more than 3 runs only once (4 against Pittsburgh on July 31st), so the Sox will have their work cut out for them. Valdez last faced the Southsiders on June 18th, giving up 2 runs on 2 hits and 5 walks in 6 innings.
