The White Sox’s 1-game winning streak came to a quick end Wednesday afternoon in Oakland, as the A’s took the finale by the score of 3-2.
The Sox struck first – in the 2nd inning – as Andrew Vaughn led off with his 24th double of the season. Andrew Benintendi followed that up with a 5-pitch at-bat, culminating in a 2-0 early White Sox lead.

Davis Martin had an outstanding outing. He went 6 innings, giving up 0 runs on just 2 hits, a walk, and 4 strikeouts. He ran into a little trouble in the second, hitting Brent Rooker to lead off the inning and allowing a walk to Abraham Toro. But, Martin went on to strike out the side.
Touki Toussaint relieved Martin in the 7th to give the A’s a chance. And, he did. After a single and a walk put men on 1st and 2nd with one out, Armando Alverez singled to get the A’s on the board.
After 4 batters, Grifol had seen enough and rolled out Dominic Leone to finish the job. Zack Gelof singled to left on Leone’s second pitch to tie the game at 2 apiece. A fielders choice and a sacrifice fly later, it was 3-2 and that would be how it would end.
