The White Sox look to extend their franchise-best 17-game losing streak tonight against the Minnesota Twins at Target Field.
Davis Martin will be taking the mound in the series opener. It will be just his second appearance in a White Sox uniform and his first start. In his relief appearance against Seattle last Saturday, he gave up just 1 run on 3 hits in 2.2 innings. The Sox are 1-9 against the Twins on the season and 0-4 in Minnesota.
Joe Ryan will be on the bump for the Twins. In his last start against the White Sox – back on April 19th – Ryan gave up 2 runs on 6 hits with 3 Ks and a walk. Minnesota went on to win that game 3-2. However, Ryan had a rough July – going 1-2, with a 5.48 ERA in 23 innings of work over four games.
