Wow! Eighteen straight losses. The White Sox are now in a 17-way tie for the worst losing streak in MLB history. A loss tonight would put them in a tie for 12th.
Garrett Crochet will take the mound tonight for the Sox. With Getz not being able to make a trade by the deadline, Crochet will likely be on a pitch or innings limit until the end of the season in an effort to keep him healthy for an offseason deal. Garrett went 5 innings, giving up 2 runs with 7 strikeouts last time out against Minnesota (way back on April 29th).
Bailey Ober will be on the bump for the Twins. Ober has been good over his last five outings, pitching 33 innings and surrendering just 9 runs. BUT! His last loss (on July 10th) was against these White Sox. Ober went 6 innings, giving up 3 runs and taking the loss.
That July 10th game was the last time the White Sox won.
