Drew Thorpe had the worst outing of his short MLB career as the White Sox lost their 12th game in a row to the Seattle Mariners by the score of 10-0.
Let’s dive right in.
After 1 out in the first, Thorpe gave up a double to Cal Raleigh and proceeded to walk Jorge Polanco, putting men on first and second. After a botched pickoff attempt, Thorpe issued another walk (this one to Mitch Haniger) to load the bases.
Thorpe struck out Luke Raley and looked like he may get out of the jam, but Jason Vosler had other ideas, lining a single to right and giving Seattle a quick 2-0 lead.

Mitch Garver then doubled, making it 3-0 with men on 2nd and 3rd.
The Seamen weren’t done yet – back-to-back-to-back homeruns made it 8-0:

Pedro Grifol finally decided that Thorpe had had enough and pulled him after 0.2 innings and 8 earned runs, bringing in Jared Shuster, who got Cal Raleigh to line out and put and end to the inning.

Tonight vs. Seattle: .2 IP, 6, 8 ER, 3 HR, 2 BB, 1 K
One of those bad nights in his second matchup against the Mariners, and first since his debut on June 11.
Shuster made it through the 2nd and 3rd innings, giving up just a single before Seattle struck again in the 4th.
After a single by Cal Raleigh, Jorge Polanco deposited a homerun into the left field seats, making the score 10-0, which is how it would end up.
