Brooks Baldwin got his first major league RBI and first major league stolen base, but the White Sox blew their 25 save and lost their eighth game in a row to the Texas Rangers in 10 innings. The Sox are now 27-75 and 3-8 in extra-inning games.

The Sox got on the board first on this solo homerun by Tommy Pham with 2 outs in the bottom of the 1st inning, his fifth of the year:

Shortly after Pham’s blast, Andrew Vaugh singled sharply to left field, but Gavin Sheets lined out to end the inning.

Fedde cruised through the first 2 innings, issuing a walk and a single and striking out 2. In the 3rd – after a groundout by Leody Taveras – old friend Marcus Semien hit his 14th homer of the season, tying the game at 1 apiece:

The White Sox scraped back that run in their half of the fourth. Andrew Vaughn led off with his 20th double of the year and, after Gavin Sheets struck out and DeJong popped out, Nicky Lopez walked, putting men on first and second with two out.

Then Brooks Baldwin gets his first major league RBI, putting the Sox back on top 2-1:

While the Rangers aren’t the juggernaut they were last year, this is the 2024 White Sox they’re playing… so, in the fifth inning, they tied it back up on Leody Taveras 7th homerun of the year:

That was the way the game stayed until the 9th. Fedde finished another great performance with 6.1 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, 5K and 2 HR.

In the top of the 9th inning, after Gavin Sheets struck out for the 3 time, Paul DeJong launches a HR to left to break the tie:

In the bottom of the ninth, Brebbia replaced Kopech and promptly got Josh Smith to fly out. Wyatt Langford then slapped a double to right-center.

After inducing a groundout to Adolis Garcia, Brebbia walked Nathaniel Lowe to put runners on first and third with 2 outs. Jonah Heim hit a single up the middle to tie it back up.

The Sox went down meekly in the top half of the 10th – Luis Robert Jr. and Benintedi struck out and Tommy Pham lined out. Texas, on the other hand, wanted to end it and go home.

Leody Taveras led it off with a sacrifice bunt, moving pinch-runner Travis Jankowski to third. Marcus Semien struck out.

With 2 outs and a man on third, the Sox intentionally walked Corey Seager and Josh Smith to load the bases and have Wyatt Langford walk it off:

I don’t think anyone expected any less for our bullpen.
