Series Preview: White Sox vs. Rangers

by | Jul 22, 2024

White Sox vs. Rangers begins Monday night (7/22) at 7:05pm at Globe Life Field.

After another stellar outing by Drew Thorpe – and another series sweep, this time at the hands of the Kansas City Royals, the White Sox continue their show on the road, heading to Arlington to take on the defending World Series champion Rangers for a 4-game set.

Texas currently sits in third place in the AL West at 47-52, 5 games behind both the Houston Astros and Seattle Mariners, who are tied for first.

The White Sox opened the second half with a thud, getting swept by the Royals in three games over the weekend. Fedde and Crochet are both slated to start this series – this may be our last chance to see them in a Sox uniform, and they’re generally the only reason to tune in, so…

Tuesday: Garrett Crochet, LHP (6-6, 3.02 ERA, 0.95 WHIP, 2.35 FIP) vs. Jon Gray, RHP (4-4, 3.96 ERA, 1.32 WHIP, 3.47 FIP)

Prediction

While our pedestrian offense has been, well… pedestrian, I like the pitching matchups this series. I think the White Sox will sneak out 1 win this series.
