Series Preview: White Sox vs. Twins

The White Sox head to Target Field on Friday for their last series of the season against the Twins.
The White Sox have pushed their franchise record losing streak to 17 games, haven’t won since the All-Star Break, and have been swept 5 times in a row. Let’s head to Minnesota!
Davis Martin will take the mound in the series opener on Friday night. It will be just his second appearance in a White Sox uniform and his first start. In his relief appearance against Seattle, he gave up just 1 run on 3 hits in 2.2 innings.
Garrett Crochet will have the second game. Rumors swirled before the trade deadline, with Crochet being one of the top targets – until he insisted that his new team give him an extension if he pitched in October. So… he’s still here. We’ll see how much the Sox/Grifol starts tapering down his innings as the season wraps up.
Chris Flexen will round out the series, pitching on Sunday for the Sox. The team is 0-15 in his last 15 starts and are 2-21 overall in games he’s started.
The Twins are 59-48, currently in second place in the AL Central and tied for the second Wild Card spot. They’re 5-6 post-All-Star Break and have given up 5 runs per game durng that span.

Prediction
The White Sox are on a 17-game losing streak, and I don’t see it ending this series. Twins sweep.

On the other side of the weekend, the White Sox head to the house of horrors known as Oakland Coliseum for the last time ever. While the A’s are still terrible, they’re 18 games less terrible than the Sox.
