The White Sox franchise-record losing streak continues as the Twins pushed it to 18 losses in a row with a 10-2 win. They’ve been outscored 112-39 during this historic skid.
The Twins wasted no time in getting on the board. In the first inning, a Trevor Larnach walk sandwiched between two strikeouts brought up Royce Lewis who promptly launched a middle-in slider into the left field seats.

The White Sox tied it up in surprising fashion in the top of the 3rd. With one out, Dominic Fletcher walked and Korey Lee struck out on three pitches to bring Miguel Vargas to the plate. Vargas – coming into the night 0-for-8 over two games – launched his first home run (and hit!) in a Sox uniform, knotting the game up at 2 apiece.

The Twins quickly retook the lead in the bottom half of the inning. Trevor Larnach singled to center with 1 out and moved into 2nd on a wild pitch by Martin. Byron Buxton walked, bringing Royce Lewis to plate to untie it:

Martin stopped the bleeding and induced a groundout and a swinging strikeout of Carlos Santana to close out the inning.
The bottom of Minnesota’s lineup threatened again in the bottom half of the 4th inning. Jose Miranda led off with a single to left. He’d move into second after a walk to Brooks Lee. One batter later, Willi Castro singled to right, and that was the end of Davis Martin’s night. His final line: 3.2 IP, 6 H, 4 ER, 3 BB, 5 K, 1 HR.
Justin Anderson came on in relief, inducing a flyout by Trevor Larnach and ending the inning with no damage done.
Chad Kuhl came on in the 6th to pitch two clean innings and was relieved in the bottom of the 8th by Steven Wilson. Then the wheels came off.
Wilson hit Matt Wallner with his second pitch to put the leadoff man aboard. Two flyouts later, Brooks Lee was intentially walked to get to Christian Vazquez – who promptly doubled to left-center. It looked like either Benentendi or Luis Robert Jr. could have made the play, but both pulled up and it dropped between them.

That was enough, but the Twins didn’t stop there. Willi Castro hit his 8th home run of the season to make it 8-2 Minnesota. After another walk, that was all for Steven Wilson. And he wasn’t happy:

Prelander Berroa came on in relief and promptly gave up a 2-run home run to Byron Buxton to make it 10-2. Berroa will fit right in.
How low can they go? Can the White Sox reach an MLB record 20-game losing streak? Tune in to find out!
